The spirit of Compton will shine on a global stage at this year's festival. Through cinema, music, learning, health, and wellness, we highlight our ingenuity, strength, and greatness.”— ML Davis, Founder & Executive DirectorCOMPTON, CA, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Compton's Hub City International Film Festival (CHCIFF) is set to take place September 25-27, 2026, marking its 3rd Annual event, gathering filmmakers, musicians, educators, industry insiders, young people, families, and civic leaders to highlight Compton's heritage, artistic expression, and forward-looking vision. For this edition, St. John's Community Health executive Gean Leyba steps in as Title Sponsor, strengthening the festival's dedication to community engagement across Film, Music, Education, and Health & Wellness. Ladies Touch, Inc. is the fiscal sponsor.

Under the theme Ladies Touch: Women in Entertainment, the festival kicks off with Ambassador Camille Tucker, a celebrated writer, director, producer, and NAACP Image Award nominee whose lineage includes former Compton mayors Walter Tucker II and III, linking her film career to the city's rich history.

The opening evening features a glamorous red carpet and a 50th Anniversary special screening of Car Wash, with director Michael Schultz in attendance, followed by a salute to iconic hip hop act JJFAD and a 1970s Disco/Funk party at Odyssey 21.

Saturday shifts focus to youth, education, and health, starting with remarks from Assemblymember Mike Gipson, along with student and young filmmaker showcases, a feature on St. John's Community Health, and the debut of Howard Scott: Straight Into Compton. Additional sessions include Landi Maduro's workshop, "The Filmmaker's Revenue Blueprint," and an Actors Workshop with Monica R. Cooper, offered on both Saturday and Sunday.

An AI Filmmakers Q&A with Dwayne Alexander Smith, Ben Ramsey, and Ayanna Henderson will examine how artificial intelligence is transforming narrative and creative prospects. The Compton Deltas' Annual Jazz Concert, headlined by Will Downing, adds musical energy to the campus all weekend long.

Sunday welcomes speaker and producer Desreta Jackson, recognized for her role as Young Celie in The Color Purple, who will share her path from child performer to producer. The day features the premiere of Chops, directed by Hakim A. Khalfani, and concludes with an awards ceremony celebrating the festival's filmmakers, artists, and supporters.

CHCIFF 2026 brings together film, music, education, health, and community over a single weekend, inviting audiences from across the globe to witness Compton's narrative.
