EPISODE 2 OUT NOW: ‘FLIGHT OF THE FALLEN’ BRINGS TORSTEN TO BREWMASTER CHRISTIAN HEURICH

The latest chapter of the Washington-based occult noir series shifts the action to the Brewmaster's Castle and the authentic Gilded-Age figure anchoring Season 2

“After visiting the Heurich House years ago, I was deeply drawn to the story of brewmaster Christian Heurich. It’s an absolute joy to turn this real historical personality into a character in our fiction.”— Marc Benjamin Langston, co-creator and showrunner of Dupont Investigations.

Flight of the Fallen, the second installment of Dupont Investigations, is available for streaming now on all major podcast platforms. Following the terrifying rooftop encounter that launched the season, occult detective Torsten Somersby and his colleague Nigel Clemmons receive a summons to the residence of a genuine Washington icon: brewery master Christian Heurich.

Welcomed by Heurich's manservant, Andrew Bell, the duo listens to a disturbing tale that has been brewing for seventy-five years and takes on the mission of hunting the winged creature haunting the city. Heurich was a real person, not a fictional construct. A German immigrant who created Senate beer, he served as Washington's largest non-government employer for many years, outranked only by the federal government, and constructed both the Foggy Bottom brewery and the notable structure near Dupont Circle that remains known as the Brewmaster's Castle. Once labeled a wartime spy by the press, he emerges in Flight of the Fallen as the individual who points Torsten toward the mystery of “the fallen.”

“After I toured the Heurich House several years ago, brewmaster Christian Heurich’s legacy fascinated me. I am so thrilled to bring this historical figure to life in fiction,” said Marc Benjamin Langston, Dupont Investigations co-creator and showrunner.

Those unfamiliar with the show can jump in at any point. The first season, The Scourge from Carthage, spans six episodes and has surpassed 25,500 IAB Tech Lab-certified listens, while Season 2 has been rolling out since its September 1 launch. Flight of the Fallen also comprises six episodes, releasing new chapters every other Tuesday until the November 10 season finale.

Dupont Investigations originates from the creative minds of Washington, DC-based co-creators and showrunners Marc Benjamin Langston (he/him), a long-form writer and attorney, and Bryce Bowyn (he/him), an electropop artist and supporter of LGBTQ+ rights and mental health initiatives. Both are recognized as DC Arts and Humanities Fellows for their efforts in elevating Washington as a premier cultural destination.
