After Screening at the Boston Film Festival, the Documentary Heads to San Diego International Film Festival as the Team Kicks Off a Nationwide Promotional and Distribution Effort
Each day, countless Americans press “Buy Now” and an Amazon parcel shows up at their door – occasionally in just a few hours. Yet, who truly bears the cost?”— Frank LicariNEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The investigative documentary “Undeliverable: Prime Profits. Poor People.” has been picked for both the Boston and San Diego International Film Festivals
This feature-length documentary investigates Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner initiative and the individuals and companies engaged in final-mile delivery operations
UNDELIVERABLE: PRIME PROFITS. POOR PEOPLE., a new feature-length investigative work from three-time Emmy-nominated filmmaker and TV host Frank Licari, has earned official selections at the 2026 Boston Film Festival and the San Diego International Film Festival.
The film digs into Amazon’s final-mile delivery network, zeroing in on the company’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program and the independent businesses and drivers responsible for moving packages from local delivery stations to customers’ doorsteps.
Through direct accounts from past and present delivery drivers and DSP owners, the documentary also brings in viewpoints from lawyers, journalists, scholars, authors, labor advocates, and industry specialists.
By weaving these interviews together, UNDELIVERABLE sheds light on how the DSP model functions, the real-world experiences of those involved, and wider issues around small-business ownership, employment practices, delivery logistics, and what shoppers have come to expect.
“We all see the Amazon-branded vans rolling through our streets, but many people aren’t aware of the business setup behind those deliveries,” said Licari. “I started this project because I wanted to gain a clearer picture of how the final-mile system works and to listen to those who have lived it.”
FOCUSING ON THE FINAL MILE
Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner program works with independent delivery firms whose employees handle the last leg of the shipping process.
UNDELIVERABLE breaks down that framework through conversations with former and current DSP owners and drivers. These individuals talk about their day-to-day delivery routines, performance metrics, financial pressures, and the dynamics between their companies and Amazon.
The film also features analysis from outside experts who offer broader context on delivery operations, workforce issues, entrepreneurship, and the rise of online shopping.
Licari noted that the scope of the project grew during filming to address how shifting consumer habits are reshaping the delivery sector.
“E-commerce has transformed how people buy goods and how those goods reach them,” Licari said. “This film focuses on one slice of that chain and lets the people working in final-mile delivery tell their own stories.”
