The companies are planning to explore an initial distribution partnership in India, along with a future technology licensing arrangement covering both India and the UAE.
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — SP Cinecorp Cinematic Venture Ltd. (“SP Cinecorp”), the Indian media and distribution company behind SP Rupam Studios, together with CineLeap, the production-technology platform created by The Film Co-Operative LLC, revealed today their plan to establish a strategic alliance that merges film distribution with production technology.
Under the proposed arrangement, SP Cinecorp — via its distribution arm SP Rupam Studios Pvt. Ltd. — is expected to act as CineLeap’s preferred partner for distributing CineLeap-created films within India, starting with DragonMan, CineLeap’s premiere production. Whenever a film reaches the point of release, the two entities will engage in exclusive discussions to finalize a definitive distribution contract.
Furthermore, the organizations aim to pursue a technology licensing agreement for India and the UAE, where SP Cinecorp would deploy and market the CineLeap production platform throughout those territories.
Additionally, the two companies plan to craft a unified story for prospective investors, highlighting the combined potential across content creation, India’s distribution framework, and production technology — while each organization continues to seek funding separately through its own financial processes.
“India possesses the narratives and the viewers — what has been missing is the framework to transform storytelling into a sustainable enterprise. Merging SP Cinecorp’s background in production and distribution with CineLeap’s engineered production methods is an initial move toward constructing that framework, and we are eager to see how it unfolds,” said Sharad Patel, Founder, Chairman & CEO of SP Cinecorp.
“We created CineLeap to introduce genuine planning rigor to filmmaking — the kind of discipline that is standard in nearly every other sector but scarce in ours. Collaborating with a group that possesses SP Cinecorp’s production expertise and access to the Indian marketplace offers us a viable route to demonstrate that approach on a large scale,” said Nuala Quinn-Barton, CEO of The Film Co-Operative LLC and CineLeap.
