R.M. Almonte launches Canadian book tour after two US world records

After already securing two world records on a whirlwind American tour, author R.M. Almonte has set his sights on Canada — and he’s not done yet. The writer, who completed book signings in all 50 U.S. states in just 192 days, is now pursuing two additional RecordSetter titles as he works his way across 10 provinces and three territories.

The planned 89-store tour has reached five bookstores across two provinces as the author pursues two additional RecordSetter world-record titles.

Bombs burn cities, but words burn through history”— R.M. Almonte

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — R.M. Almonte Publishing has announced that the author has officially launched his Canadian bookstore tour, with five appearances already completed across Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia as of October 8. This ambitious 89-store journey follows two RecordSetter world records he earned during his earlier U.S. tour, and now he is aiming for two more titles to add to his collection.

The tour kicked off October 2 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, where Almonte made appearances at stores within the Indigo family. Reaching that first province required long flights, multiple airport connections, and extensive logistical coordination. Almonte described the opening days as an adventure defined by both logistical hurdles and a warm reception from store staff.

Almonte, author of Fogs of Time and the United Earth series, enters Canada holding the RecordSetter title for Fastest Time to Complete a Book Signing Tour in All 50 U.S. States, which he achieved in 192 days. He also holds the record for Most Barnes & Noble Book Signing Locations Visited in One Year, earned through appearances at 64 different stores.

The All Fifty Club separately recognizes his achievement in its Book Tour to All 50 States category, where he currently stands as the only author listed. That recognition documents the same national journey and is distinct from his two RecordSetter titles.

His Canadian campaign is targeting a documented bookstore tour spanning all 10 provinces and three territories, along with a proposed record for corporate-owned chain bookstore signing locations visited within a single year. The final titles, qualifying requirements, and verification remain subject to RecordSetter’s review. Scheduled appearances include Indigo, Chapters, Coles, and IndigoSpirit locations. The team intends to document each stop through store confirmations, photographs, and video, preserving evidence for review as the tour moves forward.

“Bombs burn cities, but words burn through history,” Almonte said ahead of the tour. He explained that writing preserves experiences and ideas beyond the moment, giving future readers a lasting record of the people and events behind them.

For Almonte, this journey also underscores the importance of believing in his work and trusting the team helping him reach each destination. He hopes his example will inspire his family and other creators to pursue ambitious goals, regardless of the size of their operation.

His Dominican heritage remains a driving force. Among the Dominican Republic’s record achievements is the largest merengue dance, recognized by Guinness World Records after 844 participants gathered in Santo Domingo on November 3, 2019. Almonte sees his own literary pursuits as a chance to carry pride in that heritage into new communities.

After five completed Canadian stops, Almonte reports feeling strong and focused on the remaining route. He also hopes Fogs of Time will attract consideration for Heather’s Picks, Indigo’s book recommendation program.

R.M. Almonte Publishing is seeking Canadian sponsors to support travel and tour logistics as the campaign continues. Partnership information and upcoming appearances are available through the author’s website, https://www.rmalmonte.com.

Beyond Canada, Almonte has identified Iceland, Scandinavia, and the British Isles as destinations he hopes to explore through future author tours. Those ambitions reflect his broader goal of connecting with readers internationally while building a documented literary journey.

Why it matters: Almonte’s cross-border record chase highlights how independent authors are redefining book tours as endurance feats, not just promotional events. His pursuit of verified, documented milestones could set a new standard for measuring literary ambition in the age of social media and self-publishing.
