When an author’s prose universe is built on sprawling mythology, high-stakes espionage, and larger-than-life visuals, the leap to cinema often hinges on finding a collaborator who understands both spectacle and story. Debbie Bishop, the award-winning writer behind the PILLYWIGGIN fantasy series and the Black Tide saga, has now secured exactly that in Jeff Imada, the veteran action designer whose stunt work has shaped some of Hollywood’s most iconic fight sequences.

These stories have the characters, visual scope and audience appeal to become compelling films. Jeff and I are developing them with that potential in mind.”— Debbie Bishop
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Award-winning author Debbie Bishop has joined forces with highly respected action designer Jeff Imada—whose credits include The Bourne series, Fight Club and The Crow—to adapt her stories for the screen. The slate includes PILLYWIGGIN Awakening, Black Tide, The Chameleon, Enter The Game and War Eagles. Imada is set to direct The Chameleon and Enter The Game.
PILLYWIGGIN Awakening centers on stray kids who become their own heroes—and save themselves.
Black Tide: Awakening of the Key follows a man with no memory of his past who turns out to be the most feared villain of ancient Atlantis, all unfolding within Bishop’s action-spy series.
Enter The Game finds Justin, a young protagonist, infiltrating the world’s deadliest Black Ops organization to save his father. The first Black Tide prose novel, it is based on the popular comic book of the same name and takes place during Justin’s formative teen years.
The Black Tide series weaves together science, history, technology, myth, metaphysics, and tales of Atlantis while touching on issues that mirror our contemporary world.
War Eagles tells the story of a disgraced pilot who crashes on an uncharted Arctic island—home to Vikings who ride giant eagles—and uncovers a hidden Nazi airbase. Co-authored with Carl Macek and featuring a foreword by Ray Harryhausen, the audiobook narrated by William Hahn is currently available on Amazon.
The Chameleon, a novel arriving in 2027, presents a ticking clock: 3 days to save the world.
