Tamela Robinson-Fisher’s ‘My Little House’ brings faith and healing to L.A. stage

The lights came up on a full house in Sun Valley, California, as a gospel stage play tackled the emotional baggage people hide behind everyday smiles. “My Little House,” created by Tamela Robinson-Fisher, used the metaphor of a home in disrepair to explore how faith can restore what trauma and fear have broken.

Tamela Robinson-Fisher’s gospel stage play “My Little House” explored healing, identity, forgiveness, and redemption through music, and multimedia theater.

‘My Little House’ is more than a stage play. It is a journey of restoration. We all have rooms within us where we store pain, fear, disappointment…”— Tamela Robinson-Fisher, Writer, Director and Producer

The production, presented by Allegories of Me (AOM) Productions, blended gospel storytelling with music, movement, live narration, choreography, and multimedia elements to examine spiritual transformation and emotional recovery. Rather than a conventional theatrical experience, the show invited audiences into a reflective space where laughter and tears shared the same stage.

The narrative centered on Melisa, played by Shavonne Martin, a driven and accomplished woman whose polished exterior begins to crack under the weight of rejection, pride, fear, and unresolved trauma. Her “little house” became a visual metaphor for her inner world—complete with hidden closets, leaks, cracks, and locked rooms that represented the emotional burdens she had long tried to ignore. Through faith and accountability, Melisa faced her past and stepped onto a path toward healing.

“‘My Little House’ is more than a stage play. It is a journey of restoration. We all have rooms within us where we store pain, fear, disappointment, and experiences we thought we would never overcome. This production is about opening those doors, confronting what lies within, and discovering that healing, redemption, and restoration remain possible,” Robinson-Fisher said.

Symbolism ran throughout the performance: leaks stood for unresolved pain and trauma, buckets represented pride, fear, and denial, closets signified hidden wounds, and renovation reflected the possibility of transformation through faith. These elements unfolded through humor, music, choreography, and spiritual reflection, giving the audience a layered theatrical experience.

The full cast featured Shavonne Martin as Melisa, Rionel Fisher as Preacher Man, Michael A. Thomas as the live narrator, Aaron Smith as Curtis and the Jamaican Man, Andre Burleson as Smoothy, Keomah King as Fredrick, and Danenne Eliece as Jackie.

Behind the scenes, Robinson-Fisher also served as stage manager. Co-directors and producers included Rionel Fisher, Tymeshia Q. Lloyd, Mavis Taylor, and Quintus Moore. Aryeal Lands contributed as choreographer and dancer, with Pennie Promise and Felicia Fairley assisting stage production. Krystal Ortiz and Elisha Roberson of First Person Media handled videography and photography, preserving key moments from the run.

The dance ensemble featured Mickale Moreland, Jaryan Bague, Tyrese Starling, and Milagritos Godina. Their movement, along with praise dance, theatrical lighting, sound design, scenic elements, and LED panels, deepened the storytelling and amplified the emotional resonance of each scene.

Opening night included a red carpet attended by cast members, guests, sponsors, vendors, and community partners. Music artist Shaun Royal performed live during intermission, adding another layer to the evening’s atmosphere.

Following the successful debut, AOM Productions announced plans to take “My Little House” on tour, extending its message of faith, healing, love, and restoration to broader audiences. The company also revealed a Valentine’s Day dinner theater show scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027.
