Manabu Yashiro’s action manga, which has surpassed one million copies in circulation, makes its screen debut this fall, revealing a key visual, main trailer, and additional cast members Yurina Amami and Gen Sato.

TOKYO, JAPAN, August 12, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The anime series “TANK CHAIR-戦車椅子-” is set to begin airing on Sunday, October 2026, across TOKYO MX and other Japanese stations. In advance of the premiere, the production team has released a fresh key visual, the main trailer, details on the opening and ending theme performers, and news of more cast additions. The official site has also gone live.
Originally serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius, Manabu Yashiro’s manga has now exceeded one million copies sold worldwide.
Specific broadcast times and exact release dates will be announced later. Stay tuned for more information!
■KEY VISUAL
The key visual places Nagi Taira—the world’s deadliest assassin, knocked unconscious after taking a bullet meant for his younger sister—at its center, with Shizuka Taira beside him. Behind them stand Naozumi Kurosaka, a former classmate holding a fierce grudge against Nagi, and Naozumi’s sister and combat partner Touko Kurosaka. Further in the background appear Uzu and Sensei, both revealed for the first time. Sensei’s voice actor remains a secret for now.
■MAIN TRAILER
Featuring the opening theme—SiM’s “DALALA”—the main trailer is packed with nonstop action. Recorded entirely with pre-scoring, the raw voice performances and intense battles fought from the tank chair itself are a highlight. As Nagi and Shizuka’s journey accelerates through countless brutal fights, watch for newly announced characters who play key roles in the story, including Uzu (voiced by Gen Sato) and Dr. Radio (voiced by Yurina Amami), alongside a vibrant cast brought to life by Nobuyuki Hiyama, Hochu Otsuka, and Tetsu Inada!

■THEME SONGS
The opening theme is “DALALA” by SiM, a fast-paced, energetic track that captures the world’s chaos and the beginning of Nagi and Shizuka’s fight. The ending theme is “SYNC” by Daoko, a gentle song that embraces the calm after battle.
– Opening theme: SiM “DALALA”
[Artist comment] “While trying to express the chaotic world of this series through music and lyrics, we ended up creating a song unlike anything SiM has written before. Even before its release, it’s already sending crowds through the roof at our live shows!”
[Profile] A four-piece reggae-punk band from Shonan that makes an ultimate contradiction work: brutally heavy, yet intricate and catchy. They have sold out Nippon Budokan and Yokohama Arena, hosted the 10,000-capacity DEAD POP FESTiVAL, and headlined major rock festivals nationwide.
– Ending theme: Daoko “SYNC”
[Artist comment] “On ‘SYNC,’ made together with Sasuke Haraguchi, the comfortable track and melody are my favorite part. I wrote the lyrics thinking about the relationship between Shizuka and Nagi, and also about myself. I would be happy if it quietly stays close to the hearts of those who listen.”
[Profile] Born in Tokyo in 1997, Daoko drew attention for songs she posted online at age 15 and made her major-label debut in 2015. Her collaboration with Kenshi Yonezu, “Uchiage Hanabi”, has surpassed 700 million views on YouTube.
■ADDITIONAL CAST
Yurina Amami joins as Dr. Radio, and Gen Sato as Uzu.
– Yurina Amami (as Dr. Radio)
[Comment] “Hi everyone, I’m Yurina Amami, and I’ll be playing Dr. Radio!
Radio can be blunt, a bit socially awkward, and maybe a little out of shape. But deep down, she is incredibly loving and supports everyone around her with her own clumsy kind of warmth. I’ve grown to absolutely adore her. I can’t wait for you to experience the dark yet wonderfully pop-infused world of “TANK CHAIR”, along with its high-octane action! Please eagerly anticipate this broadcast!”
[Profile] Represented by 81 Produce. Born July 7 in Kanagawa Prefecture. Her roles include Mr. C.B. in “Umamusume: Pretty Derby”, Tsukasa Tojo in “Heaven Burns Red”, and Akane Makino in “Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc”.
– Gen Sato (as Uzu)
[Comment] “For the first time in my career as a voice actor, from the very moment I auditioned, I felt this profound certainty—a deep conviction that I was the only one meant to play this character and truly walk alongside him. I really hope you enjoy this epic story—a deeply human tale about searching for love in all its many forms.”
[Profile] Represented by I’m Enterprise. Born March 22. His roles include Finn Oldman in “HIGH CARD”, Chrome in “Dr. STONE”, Ko Yamori in “Call of the Night”, and Sato in “Tales of Wedding Rings”.
