‘Road to Everywhere’ debuts on VOD Sept. 15 following a 22-city theatrical engagement and a 96% audience approval rating, bringing back key ‘Driven’ cast members after nearly three decades.

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Michael Shoob’s latest project brings together the ensemble from ‘Driven’ after close to 30 years, featuring Whip Hubley, Robert Mirabal, and Daniel Roebuck

As audiences increasingly seek out emotionally charged narratives around inheritance, self-discovery, and interpersonal bonds, ‘Road to Everywhere’ lands on all major VOD services starting September 15, 2026, featuring a cinematic cast reunion that has been 30 years in the making.

The digital launch follows a summer theater circuit that took ‘Road to Everywhere’ to 26 cinemas across 22 cities nationwide, with stops in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. The project has also secured a 96% Popcornmeter audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, showing strong viewer enthusiasm as it transitions from theaters to streaming.

In ‘Road to Everywhere,’ Jason Schuyler, a Los Angeles cab driver, gets the chance of a lifetime from Jake, a casino dealer and gambler who wants to go back to the Navajo Nation after being away for three decades. Jake hopes to watch his grandson compete in a Native rodeo, but the trip turns into something much more meaningful: a heartfelt confrontation with family, memory, reconciliation, and the things that truly count in the time we have remaining.

Adding to the film’s appeal is its strong link to ‘Driven,’ the 1996 picture that debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival and first showcased Whip Hubley’s memorable everyman cabbie, Jason Schuyler. In this latest installment, several of the original cast members step back into their parts almost 30 years later, which gives the story a rare kind of genuineness as the performers and their characters bear the marks of real time passing on screen. Beyond being just a travel tale, ‘Road to Everywhere’ serves as a meditation on growing older, unfulfilled aspirations, making amends, and the lifelong quest for purpose.

Whip Hubley, widely recognized for ‘Top Gun,’ leads the film, bringing a seasoned depth and emotional nuance back to the role of Jason Schuyler. His counterpart is Robert Mirabal, the Taos Pueblo artist and two-time Grammy winner, whose acting lends the movie a spiritual presence and cultural grounding. Daniel Roebuck, a veteran actor with credits in ‘The Fugitive’ and ‘Final Destination,’ rounds out the main trio. Additional cast members include DezBaa', seen on AMC’s ‘Dark Winds,’ plus Coby Larinde, Diane DiLascio, Rawle D. Lewis, and Googy Gress, forming a group that connects past and present with warmth, richness, and emotional impact.

Michael Shoob, the film’s primary creative engine, wrote and directed ‘Road to Everywhere,’ constructing it as a deeply intimate follow-up to the universe originally established in ‘Driven.’ The production was handled by Joseph Mealey, a longtime collaborator who served as Director of Photography on ‘Driven.’ The nearly three decades that have elapsed become the project’s emotional core, resulting in a piece that feels both personal and broad in scope. Shoob and Mealey together have shaped a narrative centered on atonement, cultural reconnection, and the bonds that connect generations across time and space.

Critics have likewise highlighted the film’s emotional weight and visual approach, with NYC Movie Guru describing ‘Road to Everywhere’ as “a profound, honest, engrossing, and beautifully shot emotional journey well worth taking.”

“DeskPop Entertainment is proud to present ‘Road to Everywhere’ to audiences across the country at a moment when viewers are looking for films with real sentiment, cultural depth, and enduring human impact,” said Steve Bulzoni, President of the Twin Engines Label Group. “Michael Shoob has crafted a touching and well-performed movie that lets audiences reconnect with these characters in a way that is both intimate and grand. It is a story about coming home, healing, and introspection that lingers long after the credits roll.”

‘Road to Everywhere’ becomes available on major VOD platforms starting September 15, 2026.
