Building on a record-setting 2026 event, the Beverly Hills Film Festival® heads into 2027 with remarkable momentum. Over the past year, BHFF drew roughly 58,000 attendees throughout eight days of screenings, red carpet events, filmmaker Q&As, industry panels, networking gatherings, after-parties, and its prestigious awards ceremony. The festival showcased more than 450 films originating from over 70 countries, solidifying its reputation as a worldwide platform for daring cinema, rising talent, and established voices from across the globe.
BHFF also continues to recognize the progress and accomplishments of filmmakers who have been part of its creative network. The festival extends congratulations to alumnus Curry Barker on the breakout success of Obsession, which has continued to attract significant interest in Hollywood and beyond. Barker, a BHFF alumnus who screened his short film Contemplation at the festival in 2021, serves as a compelling example of why independent filmmakers remain central to BHFF’s mission: discovering original voices, backing bold storytellers, and offering a stage where emerging talent can link up with the broader entertainment industry.
Additional recent success stories from BHFF filmmakers include I’m Only Blind, which achieved Oscar-qualifying status and recently secured a distribution agreement; Hello Beautiful, which obtained distribution; Sheep Dog, which also finalized a distribution deal; and Where Sweet Dreams Die, which has progressed with distribution. These achievements underscore BHFF’s ongoing role as a springboard for films and creators seeking visibility, acknowledgment, and substantial industry opportunities.
