On October 2, Dirty Laundry Picture Company debuts its Southern-inspired show centered on heritage, cuisine, and camaraderie across the country.
Professional pool’s top players are used to dominating the table under intense lights. With “Grace the Table,” they settle in at an entirely different table, sharing stories about life, dreams, and what lies beyond the sport.
Allison Fisher—nicknamed the “Duchess of Doom” and considered among the all‑time greats in billiards—hosts this new unscripted program, which launches nationally on Friday, October 2, via UP Faith & Family, The Roku Channel, and Prime Video. Fisher holds the record for the longest streak of professional tournament wins, having captured eight consecutive major championships during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Throughout the series, she reveals a deeply private aspect of her life that she has never discussed publicly before, giving viewers an intimate look at something she has kept to herself until now.
Every installment invites a billiards legend to a casual kitchen environment for a meal and conversation about the narratives behind their fame. While the game of pool unites them, the show’s core themes are ancestry, cooking, camaraderie, and the individuals who molded them. Participants discuss their origins, their key influences, and life‑defining experiences both at the table and away from it.
Guests include:
Earl “The Pearl” Strickland, an Eastern North Carolina native who has claimed over 100 championship titles
Jeanette “The Black Widow” Lee, a standout personality in the billiards world
Ewa “The Striking Viking” Mataya Laurance, enshrined in the WPBA Hall of Fame
According to host Allison Fisher, the program gives audiences a fresh outlook on billiards and its personalities: “Grace the Table is a chance to see billiards from a completely different point of view. We’ve spent so much of our lives competing against one another, and now we get to sit down, share a meal, laugh, reminisce, and celebrate the journeys that brought us here. It’s really a trip down memory lane, and I think that’s what makes the series so special.”
Shot in Southeastern North Carolina, the series taps into the region’s heritage of pool halls as social hubs and combines it with the Southern custom of dining together at home.
Monty Hobbs, who founded Wilmington’s Dirty Laundry Picture Company, is the creator and producer of “Grace the Table.” His previous projects have earned multiple awards for TV and documentary work, such as Silver and Bronze Telly Awards, a Silver Davey Award, and an IMPACT DOCS Award of Excellence. Over his career, Hobbs has collaborated with entertainment figures like Erik Estrada, Russell Crowe, Gloria Gaynor, and the late Burt Reynolds, developing a portfolio focused on character narratives, Southern heritage, perseverance, and uniquely American identities.
“Everyone recognizes these legends for what they accomplished with a pool cue. I wanted America to meet the people behind those championships,” said Hobbs. “There is something special about sitting around a Southern kitchen table that almost guides the conversations; the walls come down, the stories start flowing, and the memories are made. Allison was the perfect person to bring some of the biggest names in professional pool together to swap their pool cues for place settings. And when Billiard’s Royalty brings players together over their favorite meals to relive classic moments…there’s only one thing left to do…Grace the Table.”
After the nationwide debut, cast and crew will mark the occasion with a red carpet event in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Saturday, October 10. Tickets on sale here.
The series will debut on Friday, October 2, via UP Faith & Family, The Roku Channel, and Prime Video.
