EKC PR is now representing longtime client Hoyt Richards in relation to HBO’s three-part Original documentary series Bring Me The Beauties: A Model Cult.
The series tracks Richards’ remarkable path from international fame as a model to his time inside the controversial spiritual group Eternal Values, sparking wider discussions about influence, identity, coercive control, recovery, and resilience.
Richards, recognized as one of the first prominent male supermodels of his era, has developed a diverse career that goes beyond modeling into independent filmmaking and screenwriting. As an award-winning filmmaker with a collection of creative works and multiple screenplays, Richards brings a unique viewpoint shaped by years in the entertainment industry and the deeply personal events featured in the HBO documentary.
The public relations firm, based in Beverly Hills, will handle Richards’ national media outreach for the documentary, his personal narrative, his creative projects, and the broader issues raised by his experiences.
“We have known and cared about Hoyt for many years, so continuing to work together during this important chapter is incredibly meaningful,” said Eileen Koch, founder and owner of EKC PR. “He has an extraordinary story, but what has always stood out to me is his intelligence, strength and humanity. There are so many important conversations that can come from what he experienced, and we are excited to help bring those conversations to a wider audience.”
The HBO documentary examines Richards’ involvement with Eternal Values starting in his teenage years, along with the sharp contrast between his public persona as a globally successful model and the private reality he was managing at that time.
After leaving the group, Richards has been candid about his experiences and the psychological mechanisms that can make bright and accomplished individuals susceptible to manipulation and coercive control. His current focus extends beyond what happened to him personally, emphasizing what others can take away from his story and how increased awareness might help people identify unhealthy patterns before they become deeply rooted.
Richards has also maintained his work as an independent filmmaker and screenwriter, assembling a portfolio of projects that mirrors his extensive background in Hollywood and his growth as a storyteller.
Through its representation of Richards, EKC PR will seek television, podcast, print, digital, and other national media opportunities where he can elaborate on the themes covered in the documentary, discuss his filmmaking and screenwriting work, and offer insights derived from his life.
“Hoyt is exceptionally thoughtful and compelling in conversation,” Koch added. “There is much more to his story than can be captured in any single documentary, and we believe audiences will connect deeply with what he has to say.”
Bring Me The Beauties: A Model Cult is available to stream on HBO Max.
