The documentary feature THE BEST PIZZA IS IN LA has been released by Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution unit of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group. Starting July 28, 2026, the film can be rented or purchased across North American digital HD internet, DVD, cable, and satellite platforms.
In THE BEST PIZZA IS IN LA, filmmaker Pete Ferriero sets out to demonstrate that the finest pizza globally is not located in New York, Chicago, or Italy, but rather in Los Angeles. Through conversations with celebrity chefs and special guests, Ferriero examines the history and rapid growth of red-sauce, cheese-filled, and creatively topped pizzerias throughout the city.
Directed by Peter Ferriero (HER NAME IS CHEF), the documentary was executive produced by Sarah Sobek. Kathleen Robertson and Peter Ferriero served as producers, with Raymond Esposito, Patric Arnold, and Tim Jones as associate producers. Freestyle Digital Media secured the rights to THE BEST PIZZA IS IN LA through a direct negotiation with the filmmakers and Glen Reynolds of Circus Road Films.
