Venera broadens automated QC to verify Audio Definition Model metadata, supporting the industry’s move toward Next Generation Audio
Venera Technologies, a premier supplier of automated media Quality Control solutions, has revealed newly integrated Audio Definition Model (ADM) quality control features within its Quasar® cloud-native platform and the Pulsar™ on-premises QC system. These capabilities are scheduled for demonstration at IBC 2026, Hall 7, Stand 7.D45 (September 11–14, Amsterdam).
ADM serves as a foundational technology for Next Generation Audio (NGA), allowing audio content to be described via metadata that enables object-based, scene-based, and channel-based audio experiences. As ADM becomes more widely adopted, automated verification of this metadata grows increasingly crucial for guaranteeing interoperability and dependable downstream processing.
Quasar and Pulsar now deliver more than 20 new ADM-specific QC checks. Through ADM support in Quasar and Pulsar, Venera expands automated QC beyond conventional audio measurements to include validation of the metadata that defines how audio is structured and intended to be handled. This helps organizations detect ADM-related issues earlier in the workflow and ensures that audio assets meet technical and delivery specifications before reaching downstream production, playout, or distribution systems.
Venera Joins EBU ADM Implementers Group
As a leading QC vendor, Venera also actively participates in the EBU ADM Implementers Group (ADM-IG), a European Broadcast Union-backed industry initiative that unites broadcasters and technology providers to accelerate the practical deployment and interoperability of ADM and S-ADM.
The group tackles real-world implementation challenges, interoperability testing, and practical guidance for incorporating ADM into production and delivery workflows. Its 2026 efforts include work on EBU QC for Audio and ADM, positioning automated quality control as a key element of the industry’s ADM implementation initiatives.
“ADM represents a significant step toward more flexible, immersive, and personalized audio experiences, but its successful adoption depends on reliable metadata throughout the media workflow,” said Vikas Singhal, CEO of Venera Technologies. “Our involvement in the EBU ADM Implementers Group allows us to contribute to the industry’s efforts while delivering practical, automated ADM QC capabilities directly into Quasar and Pulsar.”
