TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, August 27, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — HYPROV Expands Internationally: Hit Comedy Special Available in Over 130 Nations on Apple TV and Prime Video Starting September 15, 2026

Featuring Whose Line Is It Anyway? icon Colin Mochrie alongside celebrated hypnotist Asad Mecci, the widely praised LIVE comedy phenomenon broadens its global footprint with its worldwide streaming debut

Following sold-out audiences throughout North America and beyond, HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis is making another significant leap onto the world stage. The highly regarded comedy special will launch on Apple TV and Prime Video from September 15, 2026, making it accessible to viewers in more than 130 countries.

Headlining the production is legendary improviser Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway?), master hypnotist Asad Mecci, and director Joan Tosoni. The HYPROV special showcases the wildly unpredictable fusion of hypnosis and improvisational comedy that has turned the live show into a global phenomenon. Each performance begins with audience volunteers being hypnotized by Mecci, after which Mochrie joins them on stage to guide them through fully improvised scenes—no script, no foreknowledge of what will unfold. The Apple TV and Prime Video release represents the newest achievement in HYPROV’s ongoing journey from stage to screen.

Earlier, the special aired as a Canadian network premiere on CBC and debuted on streaming via CBC Gem, marking the first time home viewers could enjoy the acclaimed production. Now HYPROV will connect with its largest screen audience yet, bringing its one-of-a-kind format to viewers spread across more than 130 countries.

“HYPROV started with a simple question: what would happen if you took away the fear and inhibition that can hold people back and put them on stage with one of the greatest improvisers in the world?” said Asad Mecci. “To see what began as an experiment grow into a show that has travelled internationally, to now have the Comedy Special reach audiences in more than 130 countries, is incredibly exciting. There’s something universal about watching ordinary people discover just how funny and fearless they can be.”

“The best part of HYPROV is that none of us knows exactly what’s going to happen, and that includes me. The volunteers constantly surprise us, which is what makes every performance so much fun,” said Colin Mochrie. “This special captures that unpredictability beautifully, and I’m thrilled that people around the world will now have the chance to experience the controlled chaos from the safety of their own homes.”

What started as an experiment connecting two seemingly unrelated fields—hypnosis and improv—has evolved into an internationally acclaimed theatrical production. HYPROV has graced stages across Canada, the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, including an Off-Broadway engagement, drawing attention for a format where even the performers cannot fully predict the show’s direction. Central to HYPROV is the dynamic between Mecci and Mochrie. Mecci uses hypnosis to strip away the inhibitions of audience volunteers, then Mochrie challenges their newfound spontaneity through improvisation. The outcome is a distinct show every time, driven entirely by those who step onto the stage.

The international Apple TV and Prime Video release coincides with HYPROV’s continued 2026–2027 live tour, offering new viewers who discover the show on screen a chance to experience its unpredictable format in person.

HYPROV: Improv Under Hypnosis becomes available on Apple TV and Prime Video starting September 15, 2026, across more than 130 countries.
Screeners available upon request.
