An Idaho horror project about a vampire with dementia just got a major vote of confidence from a national arts foundation.
BOISE, ID, UNITED STATES, October 11, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Alexa Rose Foundation has named Boise-area filmmaker Bradley Elliot Norton a recipient of its Light of Day Award. That grant is designed to back artists who stretch creative boundaries while also being ready for a wider audience. Norton’s winning project, the feature film Sundowning, is set in Idaho and centers on a vampire living with dementia — a horror concept that aims to unsettle viewers while also digging into themes of loss, identity, and the loneliness that often comes with aging.
“The whole team is excited,” Norton said. “We’ve been working toward this project for a long time, and the Light of Day Award is just the boost we need.”
Filming is already in progress, with the main production push slated for Summer 2027. The film is targeting an international release in 2028. In the meantime, the team is working with nonprofit partner Travel Alliance of Idaho to raise additional funding.
