Prime 1 Studio unveils $1,899 Godzilla Minus One diorama, pre-orders open Oct 30

For collectors who thought they had seen every angle of Godzilla, Prime 1 Studio is about to prove otherwise. The high-end statue maker has officially opened pre-orders for a massive diorama that freezes one of the most tense sequences from the 2023 Oscar-winning film Godzilla Minus One — and it comes with a price tag and wait time to match its ambition.

Dubbed the Ultimate Diorama Masterline GODZILLA MINUS ONE (Film) Godzilla vs. Shinsei-maru, the piece re-creates the chase off the coast of Ogasawara. In that scene, the small minesweeper Shinsei-maru tries to slow down the kaiju as he pushes toward mainland Japan after sinking several warships. The composition stretches nearly one meter wide, showing Godzilla plowing through the water while the tiny vessel darts ahead of him.

The statue presents Godzilla as a full-body figure, with careful paint differentiation between the parts of his body above and below the waterline. Sculpted splashes and bubbles surround him to suggest motion through the ocean. The Shinsei-maru itself is detailed with a weathered wooden hull and crew members manning a machine gun and mines, while its wake is shaped to indicate the ship’s sharp maneuvering.

The base is designed as a rocky seabed, and Prime 1 Studio says special attention was paid to how Godzilla connects with that base to sell the illusion of a massive body moving through water. A separate Title Logo Plate is also included and can be displayed independently.

Why it matters: This diorama represents the kind of premium, limited-edition collectible that bridges film history and high-end craftsmanship, targeting serious collectors willing to invest nearly two thousand dollars and wait nearly two years. For fans of Godzilla Minus One, it offers a tangible way to own a piece of the film’s most iconic maritime showdown, but the steep price and small edition size of 350 mean it will remain out of reach for most.
