MUSE Awards open 2027 entries with ‘Reimagine Craft’ theme for global creators

Global creative competitions rarely pause for reflection, but the 2027 MUSE Creative Awards and MUSE Design Awards are doing exactly that — asking entrants to rethink their own processes before they submit. With a shared theme built around reinvention, the programs challenge designers and storytellers to treat craft as something fluid rather than fixed.

Reimagine Craft: 2027 MUSE Creative Awards and MUSE Design Awards Open for Submissions

The call for entries is officially underway for the 2027 competition cycle, with both programs welcoming work from creative professionals, designers, agencies, studios, brands, and firms across the globe. This year’s unified theme, “Reimagine Craft,” is the brainchild of the International Awards Associate (IAA), which organizes both competitions. The theme urges participants to approach shifting creative and design terrains with curiosity, intentionality, and a fresh perspective on how ideas are cultivated, honed, and ultimately realized.

2027 Theme: Reimagine Craft
Reimagine the Process. Refine the Possibility.
The landscape of creative and design work is in constant flux, driven by emerging tools, formats, materials, methods, and evolving audience expectations. The “Reimagine Craft” theme pushes participants to revisit familiar workflows, venture into uncharted creative territory, and transform solid concepts into purposeful output—all while preserving the judgment, care, function, and meticulous detail that distinguish truly exceptional results.

For 2027, MUSE is honoring work that meets change with originality, precision, and polished execution. The challenge isn’t merely to chase new trends, but to re-envision the entire process, amplify the final product, and craft work that merits international acclaim.

“Craft is not fixed; it evolves as people, tools, materials, and expectations change,” said Thomas Brandt, spokesperson of the International Awards Associate (IAA). “Reimagine Craft invites creators and designers to look again at how ideas are shaped, tested, and refined. The strongest work does not pursue change for novelty alone; it uses new possibilities with purpose and turns them into something clear, relevant, memorable, and meaningful.”

Where Creativity and Design Are Refined with Purpose
The two award tracks offer complementary lenses for viewing how concepts reach the world. The MUSE Creative Awards focus on strategy-driven ideas expressed through storytelling, media, and immersive experiences. In parallel, the MUSE Design Awards recognize concepts that materialize into products, spaces, systems, and environments through function, problem-solving, and sharp execution.

Across both portfolios, MUSE celebrates individuals and teams who approach process with intention—transforming briefs into opportunities, research into direction, and creative or design choices into work that influences how audiences interact with brands, content, products, spaces, and environments.

The 2027 MUSE Statuette: The Muse Reimagined
This year’s statuette embodies the “Reimagine Craft” ethos through a fusion of classical elegance and modern flair. From the poised Muse and delicately sculpted gown to the floral motifs and radiant architectural elements around her, each detail speaks to the imagination, precision, and artisanship at the heart of superior creative and design work. Reshaped for today’s evolving industries, the statuette pays tribute to those who challenge conventional methods, explore novel avenues, and refine every concept with purpose.
