The narrative first appeared in English in a vertical mobile-friendly format, tracking Al-Khwarizmi in ninth-century Badhdad—then considered the Silicon Valley of its era. As a young scholar at the House of Wisdom, he merged Greek geometry with Indian arithmetic to create something novel: the algorithm. This eventually evolved into algebra, the foundational advanced mathematics taught to middle-school students worldwide.
Season 1 premiered on YouTube on July 15, with the remaining episodes of the 30-part series rolling out gradually throughout Summer 2026. The series is entirely free for anyone to access and enjoy. Educators are encouraged to screen Al-Khwarizmi with their classes in mathematics, social studies, or world history. Teachers of digital arts and filmmaking—including AI animation and graphics, as well as AI filmmaking at the high school and college levels—can benefit from the production notes provided.
