The score is most effective when it enhances what appears on screen, rather than instructing viewers on how to feel.”— Cameron Adams, Composer of The Final FightNEW YORK CITY, NY, UNITED STATES, July 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Final Fight, the forthcoming feature film inspired by true events and helmed by writer and director Todd J. Stein, is excited to reveal that celebrated composer Cameron Adams has officially joined the film’s post-production team to create its original score.
Operating out of Los Angeles as a composer and conductor, Adams earned a 2025 Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) nomination and has contributed to both film and musical theater. His most recent credit is scoring the feature film Snooze, directed by David Stanley. A 2024 Yale University graduate, Adams finished the school’s prestigious Intensive Music Major, received the Abraham Beekman Cox Prize in Composition and the Bach Society Prize, and later obtained his Master’s in Screen Scoring from the USC Thornton School of Music.
Drawing from Todd Stein’s personal battle to free his father from a corrupt guardianship, The Final Fight tracks Hollywood producer Scott Cohen as he journeys home to rescue his sick father from a similar corrupt system. What starts as a courtroom struggle evolves into a profoundly intimate exploration of family, strength, forgiveness, and fairness.
For Adams, the script instantly generated musical concepts. “Upon my first reading of the script, music began playing in my head. It’s a close, personal narrative, yet it carries the magnitude of a former boxing champion stepping into one final bout. I realized the score could inhabit both realms simultaneously and help amplify an already compelling story.”
The chance to work with the filmmakers made joining the project an obvious choice. “The Final Fight assembled a group of driven, enthusiastic, and exceptionally talented individuals who all shared a conviction in this story’s impact. For any composer, joining such a team is a true aspiration.” While the movie addresses elder exploitation, guardianship misconduct, and the pursuit of justice, Adams believes its emotional core will leave the strongest impression. “This film features struggle, loss, and triumph. But at its center lies an intimate connection between a father and son, and that is what gives it universal appeal.” Scoring a narrative based on real events carried a distinct obligation. “There’s a genuine emotional duty when scoring a true story, particularly one so personal. You aim to respect the delicate moments without being excessive. However, for this film, thanks to the thoughtful storytelling and Morgan’s editing, the music essentially composed itself.”
Collaborating with the film’s editor Morgan Alexandra Neville, Adams concentrated on letting the score bolster the narrative without dominating it. “This movie juggles numerous intricate themes simultaneously. The score is most effective when it enhances what appears on screen, rather than instructing viewers on how to feel. My role was simply to amplify what was already present.”
Adams additionally commended the cooperative atmosphere cultivated by the filmmakers. “I am endlessly thankful to be part of this group. Todd and Marlene offered both a distinct vision and genuine artistic liberty. It was a seamless partnership that allowed me to contribute my own musical perspective to the story. This film conveys a significant message, and I am eager for audiences to experience it.”
Writer and director Todd J. Stein remarked that Adams instantly grasped the movie’s emotional core. “From the moment Cameron read the screenplay, it was apparent he connected with this story on a profound emotional level. The Final Fight is not solely about combating corruption; it concerns the relationship between a father and son, the sacrifices families endure for each other, and discovering hope in hopeless situations. Cameron possesses an extraordinary talent for conveying those emotions through music in a manner that words alone cannot achieve. His score contributes an additional stratum of heart and humanity to this film, and we are exceedingly fortunate to have him on our creative team.”
Stein further noted that assembling artists who align with the film’s purpose has been a highlight of the production. “Every individual who has joined this project did so because they believe this story is important. Cameron’s passion, skill, and emotional insight make him the ideal composer for The Final Fight. As we approach the concluding stages of post-production, his music is helping turn an already intimate narrative into an unforgettable cinematic journey.”
“Music is among the final components of the filmmaking process, yet it frequently lingers in audiences’ memories long after the credits finish. Cameron has a remarkable ability to discover the emotional truth in each scene without ever overpowering it. His score enhances the performances, strengthens the father-son bond, and beautifully reinforces the themes of family, resilience, and justice central to The Final Fight. Observing his collaboration with Todd and our editor, Morgan Alexandra Neville, has been truly motivating. We could not be more thrilled to welcome Cameron to our team,” said Marlene Schneider, Co-Producer of The Final Fight.
Deep into post-production, The Final Fight is advancing work on its final picture edit, sound design, color correction, visual finishing, and original score as the production gears up for its festival debut and global release. The film draws inspiration from journalist John Leland’s 2021 cover story, "The Fight Of This Old Boxer's Life Was With His Own Family," which detailed the extraordinary true events behind the film and the Steins’ father Marvin Stein, a fitness industry pioneer and former Golden Glove boxer who led an adventurous life.
