The picture stars and was co-penned by former NYPD officer turned comedian Scott Baker together with producer, actor, and filmmaker Tom Malloy. The pair have been performing improv comedy for more than 15 years, including their cult-favorite Amazon comedy series MIDTOWN, and bring that same chemistry and spontaneous comedic approach to the silver screen.
Helmed by director Mario Garciduenas, the story follows two endlessly bickering NYPD partners, Rick Taylor (Baker) and Tommy “Murph” Murphy (Malloy), whose lives get thrown into chaos after a ridiculous mix-up involving a bag of oranges goes viral across the internet. Suspended from duty and determined to salvage their reputations, the two cops hit the road escorting a teenage girl, Lacey (Marlhy Murphy) from Chicago to Vancouver to meet the father she has never known. Along the route, they tumble through one absurd scenario after another, turning an ordinary road trip into a zany cross-country comedy adventure brimming with nonstop laughs, warmth, and utter pandemonium.
Unlike many contemporary comedies, Orange Justice is entirely appropriate for the whole family, containing no profanity and humor that audiences can share without worry.
