Veteran Hollywood executive and celebrated author Peter M. Hoffman has received the Best of Los Angeles Award (BoLAA) in the "Best New Hollywood Memoir of 2026" category for his book, Karmic Winds: Reflections from the "Smartest Guy in Hollywood". This honor highlights Hoffman's remarkable storytelling ability and provides audiences with a unique behind-the-scenes look at one of the most transformative periods in Hollywood, as seen through the eyes of a leader who helped bring many of the industry's most celebrated films to life.
Peter M. Hoffman has spent over four decades working at the crossroads of entertainment, commerce, and law as a seasoned executive, producer, attorney, and author. A graduate of Yale Law School, he held the roles of President and CEO at Carolco Pictures during its peak years, overseeing hit movies such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Basic Instinct, and Total Recall. As the founder and CEO of Seven Arts Entertainment, he produced and financed critically praised films including The Believer, Rules of Engagement, Johnny Mnemonic, and Stander. Today, Hoffman continues to guide filmmakers and producers as a mentor, while sharing the insights from his extraordinary career in Karmic Winds—a candid exploration of ambition, achievement, resilience, and personal renewal.
